Catedral de Caracas
The cathedral is open daily from 06h30 - 14h00 and 15h00 - 20h00, with visiting hours extended to 20h30 on Sundays. It is centrally situated on the Plaza Bolivar and considered to be one of the most important local monuments due not only to its architectural style, but also to the artwork and icons it houses. It was also the baptismal site of Simón Bolívar and has withstood a number of earthquakes.
Archipiélago de Los Roques Parque Nacional
The Los Roques is an archipelago consisting of approximately 50 islands north of the port of La Guaira. El Gran Roque is the most important of these islands which were declared a National Park in 1972 due to the varied birdlife and aquatic life which inhabits the reefs. The park is accessible by small planes from Caracas and is a popular tourist destination with activities such as fishing, diving and snorkeling. The park covers an area of 2.251 square kilometres.
