Positive Reviews

All round good quality hotel

Woodside gained compliments from guests across the board; the staff is efficient, friendly and very attentive, the food tasty and the rooms clean, warm and comfortable.

Handy for train access

With the train station just a 5-minute walk away, the spot is in a great location for accessing Edinburgh or travelling further through Fife You may also enjoy taking a relaxing walk through the village of Aberdour and heading down to the water.

Eye-catching ceiling

The ceiling of the dining room has been a favourite of many guests who have eaten at Woodside — it is a stained glass creation taken from the SS Orontes Orient Line passenger ship.

Negative Reviews

Decor a wee bit tired

While some might call it old-fashioned charm, others have chosen to call the decor a bit tired and on the shabby side However this has not seemed to be a major issue with guests.

Wi-Fi touch and go

You may find the free Wi-Fi signal to drop in and out in certain parts of the hotel, so you might have to move around a bit to secure internet.

Soundproofing could be better

Some guests have experienced some morning traffic noise from the near-by road due to single-glazed windows, and others have reported disturbances from neighbouring guests, so bring your earplugs if this is likely to be an issue for you.
