Panoramic views in the gardens.

The gardens at Shangri-La Golden Sands Resort are wonderfully landscaped and provide a very refreshing view for the hotel's guests. Deluxe rooms provide breathtaking views of the sea while the palm trees by the poolside provide an unforgettable seaside experience.

Great service and friendly staff.

The staff here are warm, friendly and helpful. It goes a long way to make guest check-ins and check-outs a breeze, and the stays truly memorable. The concierge staff does not disappoint either and serves with the same level of dedication and attention to detail as the indoor staff.

Good location.

Located within walking distance of Batu Ferringhi market, guests who like shopping won't be disappointed here. Located just 200 metres away, East Wind Watersports provides excellent watersport facilities. PKSA Penang Water Sports Centre is 4.3km from the hotel. Guests who enjoy viewing unusual architecture can visit the Floating Mosque of Tanjung Bungah 4.5 km from the hotel.

Hotel beginning to look jaded.

A few guests have reported that Shangri-La Golden Sands Resort is beginning to look jaded and needs a facelift. The rooms look small and cramped while the furniture is shabby and outmoded. Some facilities such as TVs in the rooms sometimes fail to work and can take time to get fixed.
