Positive Reviews

Staff helpful and knowledgeable

The proprietors of Acorn provide a homely touch with their wealth of local knowledge and friendly nature, and they do a good job in offering cosy, clean and tidy rooms.

Good breakfast, lots of it

You will appreciate a choice of continental, full English or cooked vegetarian breakfast, with lots of fresh fruit available, good portion sizes and the feeling of not being rushed to finish your meal.

Short walk from everything

The bed & breakfast’s location means it is only a short walk away from Cambridge’s colleges, shops and restaurants, yet the residential neighbourhood setting means it is quiet and relaxed away from the hubbub of the city centre.

Negative Reviews

A little bit on the shabby side

While it was not a big point of contention, many thought Acorn could do with a new paint job and some TLC as the exterior looks a little tired.

En suites too small

You may find the en-suite bathrooms to be a little too small for your liking, and some guests have also considered the rooms and the beds to be too cramped.

Other aspects could be better

A small number of guests have reported issues with controlling water temperature and heating, and considered the pillows a bit hard Overall, these issues have not been deal-breakers and most have been happy considering the price paid for the stay.
