Situated just 500 yards from Goa’s famous beaches, De Alturas is a modern resort-style property with pool terrace and spa.
The rooms are modern, but with a few luxurious elements like rich fabrics. Each features air conditioning, minibar, in-room safe, tea/coffee station and flat screen TV with satellite stations.
Reception is open 24 hours and can assist with tours, transfers and luggage storage. There is a small spa area offering Ayurvedic and other treatments, but more active guests will prefer the on-site fitness centre or the lovely pool terrace. Wi-Fi is free of charge and available throughout the property.
The in-house restaurant serves all three meals, and prides itself on offering a great variety of cuisines.
The hotel’s pool terrace and the nearby beach are the main attractions. Goa Airport is approximately 22 miles away.

De Alturas did come in for a good amount of criticism, but certainly not for its location. Though it is a bit inland from the beach it is not a long walk, and guests liked that they could stroll to what was, after all, the reason for their visit to Goa in just a few minutes.
Very comfortable mattresses
Going by what the guests say, it seems that the bed buyer at De Alturas has achieved what few others in the hotel business have by selecting a mattress with very broad appeal.
Decent food in the restaurant
Most guests who mentioned the food really liked it, especially the offerings at breakfast. While there are a number of cuisines available, the Indian food seemed to be the best rated.
Very poor value for money
Pretty much all guests who brought up the question of value felt they received very poor value for money. In their minds the hotel does not come anywhere close to meeting its star rating, and the room rates are too high.
Numerous cleanliness issues
While most hotels receive at least one or two negative reviews concerning cleanliness, De Alturas received a great deal more than this. Guests speak of foul smelling rooms, possibly indicating a building-wide plumbing issue, but more than this they simply stated outright that their rooms were not cleaned to any sort of reasonable standard at the time they checked in.
Very unhelpful staff
While there were some contrary opinions, the majority of guests did not think highly of the staff or their level of professionalism. Numerous guests speak of staff making light of, or simply ignoring, the issues that they had raised with them. It is fair to say that the majority found the staff to be unhelpful and unprofessional.
