Amazing attention to detail

Again and again guests mention the attention to detail paid by the staff at Gili Lankanfushi. For them, it seems as if nothing at all is out of order or not totally executed to perfection. About the only thing not always perfect, is the occasional windy or cloudy day.


The night snorkelling

Several guests mention that this was by far their best experience on the island. The resort offers night snorkelling using special blue lights, bringing out unique colours and biofluorescence not ordinarily witnesses. It was an experience like none that any of the guests had ever had before.


“Mr Friday”

Named after Robinson Crusoe's friend, of course, “Mr Friday” is the resorts butler service, where each party is allocated a private butler who oversees their stay, and makes sure their needs are taken care of. To say that guest appreciated this service is an understatement.

Negative Reviews


Not so great in poor weather

Although guests didn't make a big deal over this, some did point out that if the weather was particularly windy, which it sometimes can be on the island, there was not really much to do for. At least for those who were looking for an active sporty holiday.


Food and drinks very expensive

This was perhaps predictable, but a couple of guests mention the high prices of food and drink on the island. This is pretty standard on resort islands, where it is incredibly expensive to bring in the food and staff to create the exquisite dishes served in their restaurants.


“Dead” coral

This is always a controversial point at resorts, but there were one or two guests who were unimpressed with the coral available to view, saying it was “dead”. Scientists generally say that white coral isn't dead, but is bleached due to warmer water than usual.
