About Hotel Ajia

Europe and Asia intertwine across the Bosphorus Strait. The iconic riverside Hotel Ajia provides the visitor with a five-star experience of Istanbul and the surrounding region.

Most of the 16 rooms and suites at this former Ottoman mansion have views of the river. A number also offer a balcony space. Rooms typically feature a satellite TV, DVD player, complimentary Wi-Fi and toiletries; plus a minibar.

The tour desk and 24-hour front desk at Hotel Ajia provide optional services including currency exchange, laundry, dry cleaning and assistance with excursion plans. Free parking is available.

Dining is in the award-winning A'jia Restaurant, also in the outdoor dining area. Alternatives include the freshest of fish at Yakamoz Restaurant which is a walk of approximately five minutes from the hotel.

Sakıp Sabancı Museum is a children’s favourite and is approximately one mile away. It is an approximate one-hour bus journey to Istanbul’s Spice Market and to the nearby departure point for spectacular river cruises.

Positive Reviews

Sailing through the traffic

Istanbul seems to be an incessantly noisy traffic-jam, but that is part of the appeal. Guests staying here can, though, avoid the traffic problems and dramas. They just wander down to the private jetty and the hotel’s shuttle-boat transports them peacefully along the Bosphorus to a number of destinations that, otherwise, would be difficult to access.

Oozing an easy style

The vibrant features of downtown Istanbul could not be further removed from this hotel. Here, the theme is one of peace, quiet and space. Hustle, bustle and panic are complete strangers here. This is the all-important first guest impression, but it is just an appetiser for what is on offer in this magical, Bosphorus-side setting. Plus, the hotel's clean, white features contrast dramatically with the vivid blue of the adjoining Bosphorus. It is quite breathtaking.

Dining delights

Guests who want to enter into the spirit of inspirational Istanbul return every day to the restaurant for another taste of the traditional, Turkish breakfast. After all, and until they return here, they won’t experience honey, olives, cheeses and freshly baked bread in a Bosphorus setting like this. Later hotel meals are also found to be delicious in content and impressive in the variety of menu.

Negative Reviews

Heated moments

In a hotel of otherwise impeccable standards, guests feel that the elephant that is missing from outside the room is an outdoor pool. There is nowhere here in which to cool down. Some rooms don’t even include air conditioning.

Feeling blue by the Bosphorus

The advantages of this peaceful retreat are obvious. They come, though, with a downside in the form of a lack of local amenities. Guests also feel that whilst it is a quiet setting, they do not feel encouraged to venture beyond the hotel perimeter at night.
