Positive Reviews

Rooms were well - maintained

Rooms were very clean and they were serviced daily. The only price difference seemed to be dependent on whether the guest preferred a bath tub or a more expensive Jacuzzi. Obviously, most guests went for the cheaper bath tub option.

There were feasts for vegetarians

Guests could access free tea or coffee until early evening. Breakfast, lunch and dinner choices were vegetarian in content and considered to be excellent. Even meat-eating guests had to agree. It was also felt that room service deserved a special mention. There was a service point on all floors and meals were well presented and served in the guest’s room.

A convenient location

It was thought to be a convenient location and was within easy walking distance of the local market.

Negative Reviews

Guests were floored by the humidity

Guests experienced dampness in the rooms’ furnishings and on floors. This was due to the intense humidity.

The experience was not uplifting

There was no lift so elderly guests in rooms on the higher floors were at an obvious disadvantage. Fortunately, there were some ground floor rooms which, if they were available, solved that particular problem. There were also reported shortages of hot water and car parking spaces. The surrounding area, whilst within easy reach of a number of attractions, was described by some guests as being a slum.

Management and staff were in need of a few tips

When errors were reported to management and staff, the combined attitude was less than sympathetic. This didn’t stop tip - hungry members of staff almost pestering for money. This became an unnecessary and unwanted pressure.
