Positive Reviews

Located in the Heart of Mumbai

Guests were pleased with the location of the hotel. It is near the outdoor Crawford Market, which they refer to as a "must-see". Guests enjoyed wandering the streets for a true Mumbai experience and also mentioned that it is close to a metro station, making travel a breeze.

Dormitory-style Accommodations Get the Job Done

Guests say rooms are beautifully decorated and quiet. The decor and ambience feel nostalgic, like it's from the 1950's, only in a good way. Old, yet nice, they come with powerful fans and have proper light and air circulation.

Good Value for Money

Guests were pleased with the affordability of the hotel, considering it a budget-style place, but without compromising on safety or cleanliness.

Negative Reviews

Hotel Staff is Hit or Miss

Guests say the hotel staff can be hit or miss, with some referring to them as "two-faced." Many say the staff follow guests around and are controlling, almost like a babysitter. Most staff don't speak English well, making communication a very big problem. Some guests are even put off by some of the staff's behaviour. Staff rudely kick out guests in the morning, as check-out is extremely early, and they are unfriendly and will not store luggage for any period of time.

Bathroom Facilities are Old-style

Guests say the shared bathrooms need a good scrubbing, with drains often being clogged. There is no real shower, but instead a bucket of water. Toilets are "Indian toilets," which means you squat to use them. No towels are provided and they charge extra for hot water. Guests report that one must be prepared to "rough it."

Wi-Fi Signal is Poor

Guests mention that Wi-Fi is terrible to virtually non-existent, especially for those on the second or third floors.
