Positive Reviews

A delightful setting for meals

Breakfast and later dining choices draw compliments from guests. The enjoyment of the meals is augmented by the restaurants river-view and lush garden setting. The menus reportedly appeal to vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners alike.

A hotel for party-lovers

The hotel goes out of its way to encourage group bookings, and the restaurant certainly does a brisk trade with group-type visitors. When they arrive, groups find there are drinks and food to enjoy, plus there is the pool in which to relax. Organised bonfires and entertainment help to ensure the continuing popularity of the hotel as a venue for groups. Bangalore is a prominent source of these types of bookings and is said to be less than three hours away by road

Real riverside appeal

The river setting and accompanying views confirm the hotel’s unique appeal. Some of the rooms have terraces that lead down to the river and, as expected in this setting, there is plenty of accompanying birdsong. The presence of rabbits, ostriches, pigeons and other wildlife, adds to the atmosphere and guests' sense of delight.

Negative Reviews

Ageing rooms

Rooms are thought to be in need of upgrading. The building itself is described as very old but, so apparently are the room furnishings and contents. There are reports of long periods without hot water, broken TVs, power-cuts, and intercom systems that don’t work. The lack of extract ventilation in the bathroom is another problem noted by guests.

The morning after the night before

Early-rising guests report on the mess which has not been cleaned up after the night before. The sight of dirty glasses, plates, cutlery and general litter, is not the best way to start the day.
