Positive Reviews

Prime location in the town centre

Bank House is conveniently situated in the centre of Uttoxeter, close to all of the town’s amenities Uttoxeter rail station is a five minute walk away and there are many restaurants, bars and shops close to the hotel.

A unique experience in an 18th century building

The building this hotel is in was once a bank, built in 1777 Now fully converted into a hotel, you can enjoy a unique experience surrounded with antique furnishings while staying here.

Large rooms with comfortable furnishings

With plenty of space for luggage, the rooms here provide ample space for a comfortable stay Some of the rooms have luxurious four poster beds for a great night’s sleep.

Negative Reviews

Loud pub downstairs can be off-putting

The hotel bar is open to the public and can get quite busy, especially on weekends With lots of people downstairs drinking and talking until late in the evening, you may find it hard to rest if you are a light sleeper.

Hotel decor is very dated and needs updating

Many areas of the hotel look tired and worn, with shabby carpets and deteriorating decor While the building itself is almost 250 years old, that doesn’t mean the hotel decoration should be left to reach the same age.

Single glazing lets the cold and noise in

Single glazed windows in the rooms do not do a good job of keeping the warmth in during the winter These old windows should really be replaced with new double glazing, which would also help to block out outside noise.
