About Hotel Nawal Sagar Palace - Bundi

Maharao Raja Ummed Singh (1750 – 1775) commissioned an artificial lake right beneath the hill on which the palace stands.A temple of Varuna, the God of water, sustainer of all life forms stands in the centre of the lake. The royal quarters were later constructed by Maharao which is now named “Nawal Sagar Palace”. Nawal Sagar Palace is 250 years old building. It was the residence of Lt. Maharaja Bahadur Singh ji.This palace has two portions known as Bad – ki – vaas meaning home to the elderly people which was even known as janana mahal where the queen resided in her old age, this portion is now converted into Hotel rooms.Rooms have been kept untouched so that the royalty can be experienced.
