It covers an area of 104 acres and is open daily from dawn till dusk. The main pedestrian entrance to the park is from Alexandra Parade through the ornamental gates, which lead to formal flowerbeds and a small rose garden. There are several features of interest in the park including the Walter MacFarlane Saracen Fountain which towers 40ft and was gifted to the City after the 1901 International Exhibition.
