The Blue Mountains Winter Magic Festival takes place in the beautiful Katoomba Village each year and in 2015 it will fall on the 20th of June. The Festival is a community event which welcomes people from all over, it’s free and the celebration is based around the Winter Solstice. Creativity is a cornerstone of the Festival with artists, dancers, drummers, choirs, musicians and market stalls taking over this gorgeous town, which is known all over for its beautiful mountain views, friendly people and its bush and nature walks through the Blue Mountains. A big feature of the Blue Mountains Winter Magic Festival is the Grand Parade, with over 500 participants, which is full of color and will begin at the intersection of Lurline and Waratah Streets, before continuing its journey through the town. ArtStreet will also return with the works of professional and amateur artisans on display, with the theme of 2015 being Peace.
