Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park (Bandar Lampung, Indonesia)

Bukit Barisan Selatan started as a Wildlife Sanctuary in 1935 and became National Park in 1982. The park is home to many endangered species, including Sumatran Elephant, Sumatran Striped Rabbit, Sumatran Rhino and Sumatran Tiger. The park coast on the Indian Ocean forms two huge bays, Semangka and Lampung. Several species of sea turtle lie their eggs on the beaches. It is listed on UNESCO World Heritage as a part of Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra.
