Originally a convent dating from 1220, Ehrenburg features a combination of Renaissance and neo-Gothic architecture and was the residence of Coburg Dukes since 1543. The Festival Hall boasts stucco from 1697 and there are rooms and a plaque dedicated to Queen Victoria, who had married Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg in 1840. Furnishings from the 19th-century and a selection of art by Dutch and Flemish masters are on display. Guided tours are presented on the hour between 09h00 and 17h00 (April - September) and 10h00 to 15h00 October to March, with closure an hour later. Facilities include a shop and cafeteria and there is limited access for disabled patrons, but pre-arrangement is an option.
