Museum 25th May was founded in 1962, as a museum with thematic exhibitions of Youth Relay Batons and Youth Day related exhibits. After the death of Yugoslav president Tito, during 1980’s, the Museum 25th May was merged with several other museums, monuments and buildings to create the Memorial Centre Josip Broz Tito. In 1990’s the Museum of the Revolution was merged with this complex and got its present name Museum of Yugoslav History. Today, the Museum 25th May is functioning more as a gallery, rather than a museum, but occasionally it has thematic exhibitions made from the invaluable collection of ex-Yugoslav president. Also, there is a tendency that the museum will recover its original exhibitions.
Museum of Yugoslav History is a top attraction in Belgrade, known for its unique features that attract numerous visitors each year.
