Queen Victoria Building (Sydney, Australia)

Le styliste français Pierre Cardin a qualifié le Queen Victoria Building, appelé QVB, de “plus beau centre commercial du monde”. Pourtant cet édifice victorien, au décor extérieur chargé, dominé par des coupoles en cuivre fut d’abord une halle aux produits agricoles. Achevé en 1898 sur les plans de l’architecte George McRae, il possède une grande verrière qui laisse entrer un flot de lumière à l’intérieur. La halle ferma à la fin de la Première Guerre mondiale et le bâtiment faillit être démoli dans les années 50.
