Rockcliffe Mansion (Hannibal, USA)

Built in 1900 for lumber baron John J. Cruishank, the 13.000-square-ft Victorian mansion was home to the Cruishank family until 1924. After J.J. Cruishanks death the family left the house and it remained boarded up for 43 years and became derelict. In the meantime it has been restored to its former glory and visitors are welcome to wander through the 9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, halls and corridors, which are filled with antiques, original artefacts, paintings and personal items, such as clothing, which had been left behind by the Cruishank family at their departure. The mansion is also home to a cabaret, gallery, cafe, bistro, restaurant, gift -shop and offers B&B accommodation. There are regular special events such as Mystery Dinners and the house is also the starting point for the Historic Hannibal Ghost Tours. Opening times : Daily from 9am to 4pm Closed on New Year’s Eve (at noon), New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day
