St Petka's Chapel (Belgrade, Serbia)

Dès le XVè siècle, existent des témoignages racontant l’existence d’une source sensée guerir, sous laquelle, un seigneur inconnu aurait construit une petite chapelle creusée à même la roche, et dont un petit couloir menait directement à la source, qui est, encore de nos jours sensée apporter reconfort et aider surtout les personnes non voyantes. Elle a été dédiée à la Sainte Paraskéva - plus communément connue sous le nom de Petka dans le peuple, et construite surtout pour accueillir les reliques de cette sainte, arrivées à Belgrade. Aujourd’hui, la chapelle est composée de deux élèments distincts: - l’ancienne chapelle dans la roche - la nouvelle chapelle construite à la demande du Patriarche de l’époque (début du XXè siècle), afin de préserver la première. C’est ici qu’est maintenant tenu le rite.
