Winter Park Ski Area (Winter Park, USA)

Winter Park resort includes Mary Jane and Winter Park mountains. Total skiable terrain is 4300 acres with 1700 vertical feet at Winter Park and 2610 vertical feet at Mary Jane. Average snowfall is about 250 inches. In 2007 there were 336 inches. There are 25 lifts. Winter Park is home to the National Sports Center for the Disabled. During the summer months mountain biking is very popular on many of the same slopes used for skiing in the winter. Ski season is usually open from November to April. This is the largest area closest to Denver being only 64 miles northwest. Lift tickets vary by age and time of year. Mid season adult is $75. This area is unique in that it is also served by the Denver and Rio Grande ski train via Denver’s Union Station.
