Ylläs (Kolari, Finland)

Ylläs is a ski center in Lapland, Finland. The 719 meters high mountain has two skiing resorts; Ylläs-Ski and Sport Resort Ylläs, together over 60 slopes. The area has restaurants, bars, spa, hotels, kids activities and different kinds of adventure services as well. Besides downhill skiing, Ylläs offers visitors great opportunities for skiing and other winter sports. Ylläs is located in Kolari district, about 40 kilometers from Kittilä, where one can find another big ski center, Levi. Kittilä has an international airport, with lot’s of charter flights in winter. Kolari has train station with many train connections from southern Finland. There are also possibilities to have own car in train, which makes it easier to reach the resort from Kolari train station. Otherwise there are bus connections to Ylläs and Levi as well. Although Ylläs has a major focus in winter season, there are lot’s to do in summer time as well. Hiking trails, canoeing, riding, fishing and cycling are for example available while hotels and seperate cottages are also open in summer for visitors.
