There are over 70 million specimens which are housed in five main collections: Botany, Entomology, Mineralogy, Palaeontology and Zoology. These in turn come under four main galleries: Red, Green, Blue and Orange Zones. In addition to the displays and exhibitions, live events take place daily at 12:30pm where visitors can see specimens not normally on public display and talk to the scientists who work at the museum. The museum has a restaurant, cafe, snack bars and three shops. It is open daily from 10am to 5:50pm, except for 24th-26th December, with the last admission at 5:30pm. Entry is free.
