Pałac Biskupów Krakowskich can be found on Miodowa Street very close to the Old Town of Warsaw. In the eighteenth century thirteen grand residences stood on Miodowa Street but only half the number survived, including the Krakow Bishops Palace, although it was badly damaged during the Swedish wars. The palace was built between 1760 and 1772. As the name suggests this was the official home of the Bishops of Krakow until the end of the 18th century. Like most of the other buildings on Miodowa Street it has changed hands many times from businessmen to hoteliers. During the Second World war the palace was destroyed and then rebuilt to house the headquarters of the United Aircraft and Motor Industry. The palace is decorated with allegories relating to science and war. There is a plaque on the side of the building which is situated on Senatorska Street commemorating the Polish people who were killed there on Fenruary 14th 1944. The Pałace can be reached by a tram to the Stare Miasto, numbers 13, 23 and 26.
Pałace of the Krakow Bishops is a top attraction in Warsaw, known for its unique features that attract numerous visitors each year.
