Lumbini Park takes its name from the birthplace of the Buddha and is located opposite the Secretariat New Gate near to the Tank Road and Necklace Road that pass beside the Hussain Nagar Lake. The park has a small entrance fee of 10 Rp (approx 20 cents) and gives visitors access to boat trips to the Buddha Island in the middle of the lake. The Park has gardens including a floral clock and children’s play areas. There are food and drink stands and a musical fountain. The waterfront jetty offers both speedboat and convetional boat trips on the lack for a supplementary fee. Opening hours are from 9 am to 9 pm daily.
