Salarjung Museum is the third largest museum in India and contains a collection of more than 43000 works of art - from Mughal miniature paintings, to Chinese porcelain, Japanese silk paintings and European artworks.The collection was put together by Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan Salar Jung III (1889-1949), who was once the Prime Minister of the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad. He spent more than 35 years pulling the collection together. The museum contains the art collection of three generations of the Salar Jung family. The museum is open every day except Friday and public holidays. Opening hours are from 10.00am to 5.00 pm. Entrance costs Rs. 10/- for Indians amd Rs. 150/- for Foreigners (approx 3 Euros)
